Facio: Leopoldo Leo Facio, 70, a resident of Bayard, died Thursday evening at Gila Regional Medical Center. Services are pending. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Hillcrest Funeral Chapels.
D. J. Fahey, 72, long time resident of Silver City, died the past week following an illness of several Weeks. He was a retired highway Contractor and had mining lnterests In this district. Funeral services were held Wednesday with requiem high mass at St. Vincent de Paul’s Catholic Church. Officiating was the Rev, Fr B. A. Vonder Haar. Interment was in the Silver C4ty cemetery directed by the Cox Mortuary.
Fahl: Emil Fahl, father of Mrs. Louise Copenhaver, died Thursday at his home in Wabash, Ind. Mrs. Copenhaver and daughter, Kaye, left here last week to be with him. Funeral services were held in Wabash Saturday.
Fahrlender: Harold F. (Smokey) Fahrlender, 72 year old Weatherford, Okla.,
resident, died Monday, March 9 in the veterans' hospital in Oklahoma City. He
was buried in the Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford. Mr. Fahrlender was born
March 10, 1914 in South Charleston, Ohio, and was schooled in Ohio, grewup there
and went to a ranch for 10 years. He entered the U.S. Army during World War II
and was discharged in 1943. He was married to Viola Ward Sept. 23, 1943 at
Brownfield, Texas. He worked as a brakeman at Santa Rita for 12 years, then
moved to West Texas in 1958 and worked as a mechanic and truck driver until
1973. The couple moved to Lawrence, Kan., and Mr.
Fahrlender was self employed
as a salvage operator until 1975 when he retired and moved to Weatherford. He is
survived by his wife, Viola, of the home; two sons, Harold Fahrlender of
Ventura, Calif., and George Charles Fahrlender of Brownfield; two daughters,
Violet Anderson and Georgia Woodruff, both of Weatherford; eight grandchildren;
two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth Lovins of Spring Hill, Fla., and
Mary Marx of Orlando, Fla.
Fahrlender: Mary Catherine Fahrlender, a one year resident of San Diego, died Friday in San Diego. She was born Jan. 10, 1915, in Samanta, Ohio. She was a homemaker and was a resident of Pinos Altos from 1946 until 1991. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, and son, Richard. She and her husband were married in July 1930. She is survived by two sons, Joseph Fahrlender of Cedar City, Utah, and Jack Fahrlender of San Diego; a sister, Mae Morales of Ennis, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pinos Altos Cemetery. Poway Bernardo Mortuary in Poway, Calif., is handling arrangements. Local arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels.
Fahrlender: In lieu of flowers, friends of Richard Bruce Fahrlender are asked to make contributions to the Pinos Altos Volunteer Fire Department, of which he was chief, at Box 23, Pinos Altos, NM 88053. Mr. Fahrlender died in an accident Wednesday. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 8 p.m. in the Wheeler Funeral Home chapel. Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Wheeler Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. David Goble of the United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Pinos Altos cemetery. Arrangements are by the Wheeler Funeral Home.
Fahrlender: Graveside services for Viola Fahrlender, a 69 year old Weatherford, Okla., resident, were held Wednesday at the Greenwood Cemetey of Weatherford. Officiating minister was Gene Hutchinson of Custer City, Okla., of the Clinton Congregationof Jehovah's Witnesses. Burial followed in the Greenwood Cemetry under the direction of the Lockstone Funeral Home. Mrs. Fahrlender was born Aug. 7, 1920, at Frost, Texas. She died at her daughter's home in Weatherford Monday afternoon. She was raised in the Frost area. She was married to Harold
Fahrlender Sept. 23, 1943, at Brownfield, Texas. They made their home for a short time at Hope, N.M., before moving to the Silver City area, where they lived for 12 years, until 1958. Mr. Fahrlender preceded her in death March 9, 1987. She continued to reside in Weatherford until her death. Mrs. Fahrlender was a member of the Clinton Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Memorial may be made to the Hospice oof Western Oklahoma. She is survived by two sons,Harold Fahrlender of Ventura, Calif., and George Fahrlender of Brownfield; two daughters, Violet Anderson of Clinton, Okla., and Georgia Woodruff of Weatherford; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Walter Ward of Lubbovk, Texas, and Searcy Ward of Red Bluff, Calif.; and a sister, Violet Wilson of Brownfield.
Fair: Funeral services for Robert Fair, 39, who passed away Monday, Feb. 8, were conducted Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 11 a.m. at Caldwell's Chapel of the Valley in Safford, Ariz. The Rev. Lori Martin Dewitt officiating. Soloist was Scott Goodwin. Musical numbers were Amazing Grace and The Lord's Prayer. Bernice Stowell was at the organ. The life story was given by Diane King.Bill Perry sang Free Bird at the graveside. Casket bearers wereTom Whitmire, Eric Jordon, Tommy Whitmire, Jerry Whitmire, John Whitmire and Emery Whitmire. Interment followed in the Safford Cemetery. Born in Safford, he grew up in and attended schools in Safford and Pima, Ariz., and Silver City. He worked as a carpenter in Safford and Morenci, Ariz. Mr. Fair left Arizona four years ago and moved to Michigan. He is survived by Maxine Fairchild of Michigan; two sons, Jay and John Fair Lee, and one daughter, Jenni Fair Lee, all of Morenci; his mother and stepfather, Mary and Norm Welch of Oracle, Ariz.; two sisters, Thelma Falletta of Safford and Diane King of Eager, Ariz.; three nephews; and two nieces. He is also survived by two stepsisters, Jeanie Johnson of Willcox, Ariz., and Sherry Forrester of Jacksonville, Texas; and a stepbrother, Norman Welch Jr. of Tucson, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his father, Marion Jay Fair. Arrangements were under the direction of Caldwell Funeral Home of Safford.
FAIRCHILD: Anne Rowden Fairchild, 80. resident of Albuquerque for 30 years, died Friday following an illness. She is survived by a son, Monte C. Rowden, of Albuquerque; a daughter, Zoe Ann Hursh, of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren ; and four sisters. She was a member of Hurley Chapter No. 43 Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Beauceant Rehekah and Amarith. Services will be held Monday at noon in the Fort ,Bayard National Cemetery with Burley Chapter No. 43 Order of Eastern Star conducting. Arrangements are by Fitzgerald and Son, Albuquerque.
Fairchild: Clyde J. Fairchild, 46, resident of Bayard for 20 years, where he owned the C & J Auto Repair Shop, died the past week in a local clinic, following a brief illness. Survivors include the widow of the diseased, Mrs. Opal K. Fairchild of Bayard; two sons, Clyde L. Fairchild of Bayard and Kenneth J. Fairchild of an Air Force Base in Tucson AZ.; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel J. Gufstavson of Moline, IL., and Mrs. Iris J. Myer of Phoenix, AZ.; six grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Kilfoyle of Layton, UT; and a brother, Marion Fairchild, Warren, GA. Funeral services were held Monday at the Church of Latter Day Saints and followed by burial in Memory Lane Cemetery.
Fairchild: Opal Kathern Fairchild, 73, of Waynoka, Okla., died in Alva, Okla., Share Medical Center on July 5. She was the daughter of Florence Alma (Shoemaker) and Walter Willard Wells. She attended Cottonwood Rural Grade School No. 26 in Woods County northwest of Waynoka. Miss Wells was married to Ollie Benjamin McCraney on April 24, 1931 in Santa Rita. To their marriage a daughter was born. They made their home in New Mexico. She was married to Clyde Jackson Fairchild in Nevada in 1939. to their marriage two sons were born. Clyde Fairchild died on Jan. 5, 1967.Following their marriage they made their home in several states, however, New Mexico was their primary home. She was a member of the Latter day Saints church and the American Association of Retired Persons. Mrs. Fairchild was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Myrtle Stech and Florence Lister, and a brother, Walter Wells. She is survived by her daughter, Iris June Myers of Phoenix, Ariz.; an adopted daughter, who is also her granddaughter, and her husband, Susan and Todd Prindiville of Silver City; a stepdaughter, Jackie, and her husband, Edward Gustafson, of Moline, Ill.; two sons and their wives, Les and Nancy of Rockester Hills, Mich., and Kenneth J. and Bettylou of Anchorage, Alaska; five grandchildren and their spouses, Frank William and Olga Fletcher, Annette and Bob Burdette, and Kelley, Kimberly and Debbie Fairchild; three step grandchildren, Marla and Jim Patterson and Kyron and Tim Gustafson; four great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and four sisters, Mildred Parker, Ruth and her husband, Everett Rose, and Ruby Wimmer, All of Alva, Okla., and Adeline Varner of Enid, Okla.Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memory Lane Cemetery with Bishop Terry Heiner officiating. Arrangement are with the Wheeler Funeral Home of Silver City.
FALCON: Joseph Michael Falcon, 23, a resident of Silver City, died Monday at Gila Regional Medical Center. Services are pending. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Falls: Billie Anderson Falls, 73, died Thursday in her home in Big Spring, Texas. She was born April 24, 1917, in Loraine,Texas, and had been a resident of Big Spring since 1959. She was a former resident of Cliff and of Lordsburg, where she graduated from high school. She worked as a licensed vocational nurse in Big Spring for 10 years, played the organ and enjoyed gardening, crocheting and painting. She was a member of the GospelTabernacle Church in Big Spring. Calling hours were today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Baca's Hillcrest Funeral Chapels in Silver City. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 in the Cliff Gila Mesa Cemetery with Pastor Max Kelley of the First Assembly of God Church in Cliff officiating. Survivors include a son, Tommy Anderson of Lordsburg; five daughters, Lynette Miller, Martha Anderson, Earlene Verbosh and Carol Peugh, all of Silver City, and Freda Bussele of Roswell; two brothers, Granville Smith of Las Cruces and Doyle Smith of Yukipa, Calif.; 15 grandchildren;and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Falls, in 1972. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Hillcrest Funeral Chapels.
Falls: George Falls, 71, died the first week of May. Graveside services were
held at the Mesa Cemetery in Gila Saturday, May 10, the Rev. Ralph Hensley of
the Trinity Presbyterian Church of Cliffofficiated. Mr. Falls was a native of
Hollis, Okla. and came to Grant County in 1913,
Falls: J.B. Falls, 72, passed away at his ranch near Cliff. Mr. Falls was a
native of Hollis, Okla. and had lived in Grant County for the past 58 years.
Survivors include his wife, Billie of Cliff; one brother, George of Cliff; two
nephews, Bard Falls and Van Miller Falls. Graveside services were held at the
Mesa Cemetery at Gila at 11 a.m. Aug. 3 with the Rev. W.E. Bill King of Clovis
officiating. Casket bearers were Butch Wallace, Wesley Brown, Freddie McCauley,
Kent Lee, A.V. Youngblood and Shirl Reese.
Falls: Van D. Falls, race horse owner of Scottsdale, Ariz., died of a heart attack at Hollywood, N.M. He was 59. He is sruvived by his mother, Mrs. A.A. Day of Cliff; two sons, James and Van M. of Chino Valley, Ariz.; four brothers, J.B. Cliff, George F., Chino Valley, Jay and John, both residing in Arizona; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Stallings, San Fernando, Calif., Mrs. Bertha L. Quick,, Dallas and Mrs. Ethel Baker, Norwalk, Calif. Funeral services were held at 2:30 Friday afternoon at the Mesa cemetery in Cliff with the Rev. Cled Wimbish, pastor of the Church of Christ of Hanover, officiating. Arrangements were made by the Cox Mortuary.
Fanale: Dorothy B. Fanale, 53, died at Providence memorial Hospital in El Paso June 9, following an extended illness. Mrs. Fanale was a native of Chicago, Ill., and had lived in Grant County for the past three years. Following her retirement from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in 1972, she moved to Hurley where she became co owner of the Hurley Garage with her friends Jack and Ina Loomis. She is survived by one brother, Stanley Boyle of River Grove, Ill.; four nieces and two nephews. Rosary services were said June 11 with funeral mass being recited Thursday at 9 am at the Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Hurley with the Rev. Fr. Delvin thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Hurley Cemetery.
FANO: Dominick Fano, 88, of Silver City passed away Friday. Arrangements are pending with Bright Funeral Home. A tragic early morning’ fire claimed the lives of two Central residents, a brother and sister, last Sunday destroying their small adobe home. The dead were Roman and Clara Ferrari, believed to be in their middle fifties. Ferrari ‘was a World War I veteran arid was unemployed at the time of the disaster. Investigating officers believed the blaze was started by a cigarette in the bedding. Both bodies were discovered in their beds following an hour battle with the blaze. A coroners jury called by Mrs. A. A. Rich, justice of the peace in the mining distict community, found that the deaths were accidentally caused by suffocation and fire. FAJARDO: Isirdo Afvaro J. Fajardo, 79, a resident of Aragon, passed away Thursday in Silver City. Born May 15, 1916, in Aragon, he spent most of his life there. He was the son of Valcntin and Carlota Fajardo. As a young man he worked as a miner in the Morcnci, Ariz., area, and was a veteran of the Civilian Conservation Corps. He retired in 1983 after 30 years with the Forest Service. His favorite pastime was traveling. He had a profound love of the open road and seeing new places. He is survivcd by his wife of 53 years, Eloisa Apodaca Fajardo of the family home; two sons, Richard Fajardo and his wife, LOucila, of Alpine, Ariz., and Mark Fajardo and his wife, Imelda, of Socorro; and four daughters, Treasa Martinez and her husband, Primo, of TucsOn, Ariz., Kathy Gutierrcz and her husband, Raymundo, of Silver City, Maria Anna Fajardo of Silver City, and Veronica Morones and her husband, John, of Coucho, Ariz. He is also survived by his four sisters, Cecilia and her husband, Candido, all of Aragon, Emma Olivas and her husband, Luis, of Los Lunas, and Fedilina Barrajas and her husband, Gil, of Tucson; 15 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Son, Eddie FajarcJo; his brother, Pablo Fajardo; and three sisters, Irene Lopez, Martha Greigo and Monica Najar. Visitation from 6 7 p.m. today at Santo Niflo Catholic Church in Aragon will be lollowed by the rosary. The Mass of resurrection will be celebrated Saturday morning at 11 at the same church. Burial will follow at the Aragon Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers will be his grandsons, Dino and Edwnrcjo Martinez, Nathan and Lorcuzo Gutierrez, Mario A.J. Fajardo and Joshua Moroncs. Honorary bearers are Diane Fajardo, Deana Martinez, Dolores Fajardo, Ann Guticrrcz, Melanie Morones, Manual fajardo, Cory Martinez, Samantha Walker, and David Baca. Entrusted to Baca's Funeral Home.
Farley: Ricky Keith Farley of Silver City and Deming died in a motorcycle accident Saturday, August 29. He is survived by his father of Siver City, Richard R,. Farley and his wife Charlotte and two children of Patagonia, Ariz. Mr. Farley is being sent to Nogales for services with burial in Patagonia. Local arrangements by the Wheeler Funeral Home.
Alden H Farmer 63 a retired employee of Chino Mines died Monday in El Paso. He was for many years chief timekeeper in the personnel dept at Santa Rita and worked for Chino from 1938 59. He is survived by a son, Thomas Farmer, of El Paso. Funeral services were held at the Curtis mortuary chapel at 2:30pm today. The Rev Harold E Johnson of the Santa Rita Community Church officiated. The Santa Rita Masonic Lodge will have committal services in the Masonic cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Jack Hardin, K V Harris, Walter Fleming, William Frazier, Jesse Blair, and Wade Martin.
While enroute home with her husband from a motor trip to Sulphur Springs, Ark., Mrs. Anna May Farmer, 49, of Santa Rita, wife of A: H. Farmer, passed away last Saturday evening at St. Marys Kan. Mrs. Farmer had resided in Santa Rite for the past 40 years with her family and was active 1n all community affairs. She was a member’ of the Santa Rita Community Church and a Past Matron of the Santa Rita Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are her husband, one son, Thomas A. Farmer, student at ‘the University of Arizona at Tucson; two brothers, Lee H. Goodwin1 Central, and James P. Goodwin, Cleveland, Ohio, and three sisters, Mrs. Gladys McMillen, Tucson: Mrs. Mabel Wells, Lincoln, Nebr., and Mrs. Doris WiLson, Omaha, Nebr. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Cox mortuary Chapel, the Rev. H, E. ‘Johnson, Santa Rita Community Church pastor, officiating. The Order of Eastern Star Chapter of Santa Rita also had chape1 services. Internment was , in Masonic cemetery. Casket bearers were F. Merle Hickman Walter Fleming, John Menard, J. L. Archer, Martin Smith and William Welsh.
Farmer: Otto Farmer, 75, well known retired employee of Chino Mones Division,
Kennecott Copper Corp., died Saturday at Resthaven Nursing Home in Silver City.
Survivors include five sons, Jim and Arthur of Albuquerque, Dewey of Lubbock,
Tex., Willard of New York City and Robert of Bayard; three daughters, Mrs. C.A.
Keith of Morenci, Ariz., Mrs. O. D. Hughs of Coahama, Tex., and Mrs. Dan Huley
of Sallas, Tex.; a daughter
in law, Mrs. Billy Ruth Farmer of Silver City; 23
grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Eunice Herrington of
Vernon, Tex., and two brothers, Jess Farmer of Fort Worth, Tex., and Dewey
Farmer of Vernon. The Rev. Harold E. Johnson of Santa Rita conducted final
services Tuesday in the Curtis Mortuary chapel. Burial was in Memory Lane
Cemetery.
Farris: Funeral services for Avery T. Farris, 69, who passed away Monday were held in the Curtis Bright Funeral Chapel Wednesday with the Rev. C.N. Henderson of the Church of the Good Sherperd officiating. Interment followed in Memory Lane Cemetery. Mr. Farris is survived by his wife, Mrs. Wilma Farris; a daughter, Mrs. Jan Dunn; a son, Gene Farris; five grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.
Farris: Wilma L. Bill Farris, 76, widow of the late Avery Farris and former manager of the Bullard Hotel in Silver City and Whitewater Lodge in Glenwood, entered life eternal at Hacienda de Salud on Tuesday. She was born Dec. 8, 1916, in Weed to the late James Michael Happy and Wilma May (Jones) Reed. She resided in Grant County for 56 years. She was a former resident of Arenas Valley, and was a Protestant by faith. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Baca's Funeral Chapels with the Rev. David Goble, pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Cliff, officiating. Cremation will follow at Baca's Mimbres Crematory. Survivors include a son, Gene Farris of Lordsburg; a daughter and son in law, Jan and Mike Trayno of Mule Creek; seven grandchildren; one stepgrandson; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Archer of La Mesa and Geraldine Scott of Yuma, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, 70 E. Lake St., Suite 600, Chicago, Ill. 60601. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels.

Hillcrest general hospital will be held Tuesday afternoon at3:30
from the Mahoney funeral 1chapel in Deming with the Rev. Higgins officiating.

who was born in’ Las Cruces, was a resident of Douglas, Ariz. He is survived by,
two daughters: Mrs. Zolaune Pingleton of Morenci Ariz. and Zelma Richardson of
Compton CA: and a son Charles B Faulkner in the US Army; two sisters, Mrs. Sue
Smith Compton CA and Mrs. M E Toomis of Los Angeles; a brother R B Faulkner of
Hachita and a mother Mrs. L J Faulkne.
FAULKNER. Richard “Dick” Faulkner, 80, a life time Hachjta resident, died
Thursday at the New Mexico Veterans Center in Truth or Consequences. Funeral
services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 at Bethel
Baptist Church with the Rev. Kerry Chadwick, pastor, officiating. Concluding
services and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Deming with
Masonic Lodge No. 12, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, conducting. Mr. Faulkner
was born Oct. 27, 1916, in Hachita to Rufus and Anne Belle Faulkner. He ranched
in the Hachita area most of his life and was a member of the Hachita Baptist
Church. He was a 50 year Mason. and a member of the Deming Masonic Lodge,
Eastern Star, Scottish Rite and the Shriners. At one time, Mr. Faulkner also
worked for the Luna County sheriff s office and New Mexico Highway Department.
He was a brand inspector for the New Mexico Livestock Board. His family includes
his wife, Mariilyn of Hachita a son, Rick Faulkner of Wilcox, Ariz.; a daughter,
Judy Keeler of Animas; a sister, Harriet Stinson of Tucson, Ariz.; nine
grandchildren; and five great
grandchildren. Pallbearers will he members
of his family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the
Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 8776, Albuquerque, NM 871988766, or the
Hachita Community Center, P.O. Box 65, Hachita, NM 88040.
Mrs Minnie Elliot Faust,83, mother of Jerry W Faust, Of Hanover died Monday in
a El Paso hospital. She was a resident of El Paso for 54 years. Besides her son,
surviving are a daughter, Mrs. C. A. Johnson,
El Paso, eight grandchildren and a great grandchild. Funeral services were held
Tuesday in the Rodehaver
Miller Mortuary chapel, the Rev. Hobart
Bennett officiating Pallbearers were Arthur Prescott, Mack Waskom, Frank Pukh,
Sr., Frank Cantrell, Melvin Porterfield and T. E. Welkey. Interment was In
Concordia cemetery.
Faust: Eva M. Faust, 72, a lifelong resident of Alma and retired secretary for the U.S. Forest Service, entered into rest Saturday at her residence. She was born May 17, 1919, to the late Hugh and May (Balke) McKeen in Alma. As a rancher's wife she was active in ranching duties and involved in many area organizations such as the Southern Catron County Chamber of Commerce, Frisco Cowbelles, Glenwood Woman's club and the Gila Permittees Association. Jerry W. Faust, 54, vice president and general manager of the American Zinc, Lead & Smelting Company, and director of the Peru mine operations at Hanover, was fatally injured last Thursday in an accident at his ranch near Alma, Catron County. He was thrown from a horse and suffered a fractured skull. He was flown to Providence for treatment but died the next day. The death of Faust was a loss to the mining industry of New Mexico where over a period of years he head an outstanding career as an executive, engineer and community leader. Born June 8, 1912, in El Paso, Texas, he was married to the former Eva McKeen Bayne December 3, 1947. He earned his B. S. Degree in mining engineering in 1933 from the Texas School of Mines in El Paso, worked as an engineer at Terlingua, Texas, for three years and thereafter came to Grant County and worked as engineer for the Black Hawk Consolidated Mines Company at Mogollon, of which the late Ira L. Wright was vice president and general mamager. In 1937, he became an engineer for the Peru Mining Company, of which Joseph H. Taylor was vice president and general manager and succeeded to this position when Taylor retired. In recent years he had conspicuous success as a mining executive, in charge of operations at Peru Mine, Shannon Mine in Arizona and American Mining Co. Faust was a past president of the New Mexico Mining Association and a director of the American Mining Congress, a charter member of the Southwestern Section of the American Institute of Mining and petroleum Engineers, director of the American National Bank, Silver City, member of the Bayard Lions Club, the Silver City ElksLodge and Silver City Grant County Chamber of Commerce. He was listed on Who's Who In New Mexico. Immediate survivors are his widow and six children, Ann, Helen, Jerry III, John, William and Joe, a brother, sister and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at the Curtis Mortuary chapel,the Rev. Clifton M. Henderson, of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, conducting the rites. Interment was in Memory Lane Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Dr. L. L. Anderson, R. E. Calhoun, L. J. Conley, S. T. McBee., T. E. Walkey, W. G. Word, Jr.
FEATHER: Robert Leslie Feather, 68, of Silver city died Sunday morning in Tuscon after an extended
illness. Mr Feather was born in 1926 in Artesia the son of Landis B and Mary Sue
Feather. He was a
graduate of Arcadia High School and entered the Navy V.12 program at the
University of New
Mexico during World War II. Following the war, he received a degree in civil
engineering from the
University of New Mexico and for a period was an independent building contractor
in Albuquerque.
He joined the U.S. Forest Service as an engineer in 1948 and was stationed in
several areas of Arizona
and New Mexico. He left the Forest Service in the early 1960s to establish a
private engineering firm
in Safford, Ariz. Mr. Feather returned to the Forest Service in 1966 as an
engineer in the Gila National
Forest. He retired from the Forest Service in 1986 and lived in Tucson for
several years before moving
to Silver City in 1990. In recent years, he was employed with Troutman
Engineering in Silver City.
Survivors include a sister, Shirley Whittomore of Penbrokc, N.H.; two brothers,
Landis E. Feather of
Hermitage, Pa., and Bill Feather of Santa Fe; his former wife, Jay Pinkerton,
and her daughter,
Michóle Vasey, of Tucson; and several nieces, nephews and other family members.
Cremation has
taken place and a memorial service will be held in Silver City at the Episcopal
Church of the Good
Shepherd on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Adair
Funeral Home in Tucson.
Feeley: Edward Pat Feeley, 63. died Tuesday at Fort Bayard Medical Center. Mr. Feeley was born in Denver, Colo., and was a resident of Grant County for 34 years, where he was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the Silver City Elks Club. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Feeley of Silver City, a son, Patrick S. Feeley of Silver City, three sisters, Marian O'Neal of Colorado Springs, Colo., Genevieve Ross of Denver, Teresa Haley of Lakewood, Colo., and three grandchildren. Rosary recitation will be held Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Curtis Bright Chapel.Mass of the Resurrection will be held Friday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor A. Feeley: Margaret M. Feeley, 57, a Silver City resident, entered life eternal
Tuesday at Gila Regional Medical Center. She was born May 29, 1935, in Montana
to Thomas and Esther Murray. In1962, she was married to Patrick Feeley, and
later relocated to Silver City. Mrs. Feeley was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and
was a homemaker. The rosary will be held Thursday evening at 7 in Baca's Fuenral
Chapels with Father Cipian reciting. Mass will be celebrated Friday morning at
10, also in Baca's Funeral Chapels, with Father Cipian as celebrant. Burial will
follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest.
Survivors include her husband, Patrick Feeley of the home; a son, Larry Feeley
and his wife, Jennifer, of Silver City; two daughters, Gerina Duncan and her
husband, Tommy, of Playas, andTeresa Feeley of Silver City; her mother
in law,
Thelma Feeley of Silver City; two brothers, Billy Murray of Whitefish, Mont.,
and Thomas Murray of California; and three sisters, Ruth Hamilton of Fort Worth,
Texas, Blanch Ivy of Meridian Miss., and Betsy Ness of Berlington, Iowa. She is
also survived by two grandchildren, T.J. Duncan and Nathaniael Ross Feeley.

Feeney: Eva Elizabeth Feeney, 98, died Monday evening in the Fort Bayard Medical Center. She was born Feb. 3, 1891, in Bandera County, Texas, to John F. and Riley Jackson Criswell, and moved to Grant County in 1906. Mrs. Feeney was a practical nurse, and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, Gila Ward. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 in the Gila Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints with Bishop Rolland Rice conducting. Interment will follow in the Cliff Gila Mesa Cemetery. Survivors are a granddaughter, Sharon Remondini, and three great grandchildren, Jimmy, Jerry Don and Deanna Remondini, all of Gila; six nieces, Lorene Spangler of Aurora, Colo., Margaret Spurgeon and Leota Lopez, both of Reserve, Ethel Glenn of Silver City, and Georgia Mae Anderson and Myrtle Dyer, both of Albuquerque; and a nephew, Edwin Pack of Alamogordo. She was born Nov. 17, 1908 in Fratt, Texas; was a member of the Evangelican Lutheran Church; and was a lovely homemaker and baker. Chapel service was held today at 3 p.m. in Baca's Hillcrest Funeral Chapel with music provided by Adele Giusto. The Rev. Robert Ihlefeld of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd officiated. Fekete: Rudolph W. Fekete, 47, an engineer for the Chino Mines Division of Kennecott Copper Corporation, died Sunday night at Hillcrest General Hospital. He had been a resident of Silver City for the past three years. Survivors of the deceased include his widow, Mrs. Ramona Fekete of Silver City; three sons, John, Steven and Mike; two daughters, Julia and Katherine; his father, Mike of Los Angeles. Rosary services were conducted at the Curtis Mortuary on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. with the Rev. Fr. William J. Allard officiating. Curtis Mortuary shipped the body for interment in a Los Angeles cemetery.

Mrs. Sara Lillian Felix, 52, Silver City, died recently in the Santa Rita
hospital of a heart attack. She lived with her sister, Mrs. Joan Bess Cobb, and
had been a resident of Silver City for the past eight years. Survivors are a
daughter, Joan Felix, Silver City; a son, Eddie Felix, with the, U. S.. Army in
Germany; two sisters, Mrs. Cobb and Grace Kiddo; two brothers,. Bill Miller, Phoenexville, Pa., and Nelson Miller, Harrisburg, Pa.

Fell: Marvin John Fell Jr., 63, a former Silver City resident, died Sunday in Morenci, Ariz. He retired from the Phelps Dodge Tyrone Branch as a truck driver. He moved to Morenci four years ago to serve as minister of the Church of Christ in that community. He is survived by his wife, Bettye, of Morenci; two sons, Don from Silver City and David from Bergen, Norway; four grandchildren; and his father, Marvin Fell Sr. He was a World War II veteran. Visitation was scheduled for today from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Botimer Funeral Home in Clifton, Ariz. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ at 12th and West streets in Silver City. Visitation will be held at the church from noon until the funeral. Capt. John Fellabaun, jr., U.S. Army, who died Saturday in a highway accident near Fort Stockton. TX when his car was involved in a collision with a truck, will be held at 2 p.m. today in The Curtis Mortuary chapel. Conducting the rites will. be the Rev. Harold Johnson of Santa Rita and the Rev. Earnest Berkeley of Burley. Burial with full military honors will take place in the Masonic cemetery. At the time of the accident, Captain Fellabaum was enroute to El Paso with his fiancée, an Army nurse of Bróoks Army hospital, San Antonio, Texas. Fenlon: John J. Fenlon, a resident of Silver City and former resident of Mimbres, entered life eternal Thursday in Las Cruces. He was born in Chicago to the late John Joseph and Helen Formanek Fenlon. After a career in the U.S. Navy, he worked in aircraft maintenance for Flying A Flight Service of Silver City. I Ic was born Feb. 28, 1925, in Rogers City, Mich.. and had been’ a Silver City resident for the past eight years. Mr. Ferdelman was an accomplished musician and a retired music teacher. Gloria Ferrel, 14, of Duncan, Arlz., passed away Monday night in Hillcrest General Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Central, she was the daughter of Mrs. Lilly Ferrel. Surviving, besides her mother, are three sisters, Virginia, Imogene and Erlina, and a brother, Henry, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ferrel, Central, and Mr.’ and Mrs. Tranquilino Vega, Silver City. Mrs. Paul Ferguson of Silver City received a message this week of the death of her brother, Wyly Rains, in a hospital at Las Vegas, Nevada, following a long illness. Fred E. Fernald Jr., 67, of Central passed away Friday at his residence. Mr. Fernald was born March 22, 1924, in Bangor, Maine,to Fred and Alice (Robinson) Fernald. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post No. 18, and the Kiwanis Club. Fernandez, 54, who ‘had served In Congress from New Mexico since 1942 and was reelected at Tuesday’s election for his eighth term, died Wednesday in an Albuquerque hospital.’ He suffered a stroke two weeks ago while campaigning. Born at Springer, N. M., he started his career as a lawyer, and had held important elective and appointive offices in New Mexico before going to Congress, where he made an outstanding record. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Cleo Chavez Fernandez, three Sons and two daughters. To fill the House vacancy, caused by his death, a special election will have to be held. Selection of a candidate will be made by the Democratic State ..Executive Committee. At the special election, the Republicans also will have a candidate.
FERNANDEZ; Josephine Burnett Fernandez, 89, of Solomon, Ariz., passed away Friday., Oct. 2, at the Mount Graham Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a mother. Mrs. Fernandez was the daughter ‘of James and Kate Burnett, and was born in Swartz, N.M., on Sept; 10, 1909. She grew up and attended school in New Mexicio, and later met and married Guadalupe Fernandez. They raised their family in New Mexico and moved to Solomon in’ 1972’ following his retirement.’ Mrs. Fernandez. loved her family’ and lived for them. She was a talented gardener who grew beautiful and fragrant flowers. She was a supporter of St. Jude’s Hospitaland was always willing to ‘assist others in need. Mrs. Fernandez was a faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and also a member of the Solomon Beneficio Propio. She is survived by her three daughters, Margaret F. Cabállero of Solomon, Lena F. Valdez of Clifton, Ariz., and Lucy F. Vozza of Safford, Ariz.; her two sons, Guadalupe Fernandez Jr. of Douglas, Ariz., and Steve Fernandez of Safford; her sister, Kate Duran of California; her brother, Lorenzo, Dominguez of California; 27 grandchildren; 60 great grandchildren; and 25 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe, in 1977, and her son, Raymond, in 1988. A prayer vigil and rosary was recited Monday, Oct. 5, at Dayid’s Safford Funeral Home. in the Fort Bayard Medical Center. He was born on July 4, 1892, in Ascension,
Chihuahua, Mexico, and was former owner of the Copper Inn Bar in North Hurley.
Survivors include his wife, Maria D. Fernandez, and a son, Mike O. Fernandez,
both of North Hurley; one brother, Carlos Fernandez of El Paso, Texas; 10
grandchildren, Rudy Fernandez of Germany, Yvonne Fernandez and Tommy Chavez Jr.

FERNANDEZ: Jory Patrick Fernandez, 16, a lifelong resident of Las Cruces, died Thursday at Memorial Medical Center. He was born Sept. 17, 1980, in Las Cruces. He was a student at Onate High School and was employed by Burger King. Survivors include his mother, Libby A. Tellez; his father, Larry A. Fernandez, and his wife, Ernestina Lupe; two brothers, “L.A.” Fernandez II and Derek a sister, Mary Ann Tellez; two step brothers, Mario B. Lopez and Derek Ryan Fernandez; and a stepsister, Chrystal Lopez, all of Las Cruces; his paternal grandfather, Arturo 0. Fernandez of Las Cruces; four uncles, Louis J. Tellez and his wife, Laura, of Jamestown, N.C., and James Paul, Greg, and Raymond Ledesma Fernandez and his wife, Lisa, all of Las Cruces; three aunts, Eva Marie Hernandez and her husband, Johnny, of Las Cruces, and Sally Ann and Irma Jo Fernandez of Glendale, Ariz.; and numerous other uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Mr. Fernandez was a member of the Catholic Church. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps and the Army National Guard. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Teadora Cisneros of Silver City, and Miguel Morales of Redondo Beach, Calif.; three nieces; one nephew; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and one uncle. Casket bearers will be members of the Army National Guard. View Cemetery. She was born Feb. 15, 1918, in Ascencion,Chihuahua, Mexico, and
was a homemaker. She had been a Hurley resident since 1976, having previously
lived in Ascencion. She was a member of Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Hurley.
She is survived by a stepson, Mike O. Fernandez of Hurley; a stepsister, Jesus
Morales of Ascencion; four grandchildren, Alma Natele, Yvonne Huerta, Rudy
Fernandez and Margarita Fernandez; and six great grand children. Baca's Funeral
Chapels is in charge of arrangements.
Peter Fernandez, 18, of Silver City, died Monday shortly after midnight in Hillcrest Hospital, of a .22 calibre rifle bullet in his head. The shooting occurred in the home of his foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Simon Maldonado, 1309 Swan St., according toPolice Chief Thomas Ryan, who investigated the tragedy. The victim was on leave from Job Corps Center at San Marcos, Texas. An inqest was held Tuesday by Justice of the Peace U. L. Conner and the coroner's jury returned a verdict that death was caused by a self inflicted bullet wound. Besides his foster parents, survivors are four brothers, Louis and Robert Fernandez, who is with the U. S. Marine Corps in South Carolina, and Freddie Fernandez of Silver City. A Rosary service was conducted at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Curtis Mortuary. Funeral services were held in the chapel at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Fr. Henry Saxon officiating. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery.

Ferris: Mrs. Ralph B. Ferris, a former resident of Silver City, passed away in Barrytown, N.Y., July 21. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. John Fish, and one granddaughter, of Barrytown. While living in Silver City, a niece, Miss Katherine Nutt, lived with them for a time and taught in the Cliff Consolidated School. After leaving Silver City, the Ferris' moved to Tucson for the benefit of the Mr. Ferris' health and later went to New York to be with their daughter, the former Ruth Ferris. Word of the death of Mrs. Vern (Beulah) Fetterman, Wheat Ridge, Colo., reached Mr. and Mrs. M. R, Walton. The Fetter mans cane to Silver In the 1940’s and made their home on Cottage San Road for more than 15 years. Mrs. Fetterman preceded his wife in death several years ago.
Mary Elizabeth Little, 72, a retired teacher of the Santa Rita School System died Tuesday in the Ft Bayard Hospital following an extended illness. Immediate survivors of the deceased include her husband, E. A. Little of’ Silver. City; a son, W. S.” Wood of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren and 17 great. grandchildren. Mrs. Little was born at Eddyville, Ky., and had followed her career as a teacher for 40 years, 31 of which were spent in the Santa Rita Public Schools. In 1961, she was elected to the New Mexico Educational Hall of Fame. she had been a member of the Christian Church most of her life; was a lifetime member of Easterri Star; was’ a member of Delta Kappa Gamma sorority; of the Town and County Garden Club; and of the Weseyan Service Guild of the Methodist Church of Silver City. Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of the Curtis mortuary Thursday by the Rev. James G. Wayne, pastor of the Methodist Church, and by the Silver City Chapter No. 3, of Eastern Star. Vernon Fetterman, 80, a former well known resident of Silver City, died Jan. 25 in Wheat Ridge, Colo., where he and Mrs. Fetterman had resided for the past two years. Survivors are his wife and a daughter, Mrs. Helen Francis, living in California. Funeral services and burial took place in Wheat Ridge. Few: Mrs. Lilia Few, 94, a resident of Silver City since 1937, died Saturday morning at Rest Haven Nursing Home. A native of Missouri, Mrs. Few came to New Mexico in 1925, settling at Mogollon, where she resided until moving to Silver City. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Silver City. Survivors of the deceased include a daughter, Mrs. Myrl Creel of Silver City; two sons, Marvin Few of Socorro and Elmer Few of Santa Rosa, CA.; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The Rev. James Wayne of the First Methodist Church officiated at the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the chapel of the Curtis Mortuary. Interment was in Memory Lane Cemetery.
FIEBER: Richard William Fieber, 28, died Monday in Tucson, Ariz. lie was born in Tucson and had been a lifelong resident of Silver City. He is survived by his mother and step father, Clara and Charles Jackson of Hurley; his father, Richard Fiche r of Tucson one sister, Judith Ann Miller of Silver City; one brother, Charles ‘‘Tink’’ Jackson of Hurlev his grandfather, Walter L. .Jackson of Arenas Valley; two nephews, Robert and William Miller of Burley; and several cousins, aunts and uncles. Dirk Henry Fieldcamp, 56, passed away Wednesday, January 19, at Hillcrest Hospital. Mr. Fieldcamp as a native of Kansas and has resided in Silver City for the past 6 months. He is survive by his wife, Mrs. Louise Fieldcam of Silver City, two sons, Richard . Fie camp of Douglas, Wyo. and I H. Fields; LeRoy PeeWee Fields, 36 died Feb. 18 in Las Cruces. LeRoy was born in Silver City where he was a life long resident. He held a psychology degree from Purdue University in 1977, Director of Social Service in Lordsburg, eight years with the United States Airborne (Green Berets) with Bronze Star and Purple Heart both while in Vietnam. He was a member of the Business Men of America and ex member of the Knights of Pythias. LeRoy is survived by his wife Alma Fields of Silver City; two daughters, La Klisha Monique Fields of Silver City and Jennifer Fields of Las Vegas, Nev; three sons, Salwillel Thomas Westly Fields, Michael Fields and Rashad Wali Fields, all of Silver City; his father R.J. Fields of Texarkana, Tx; his maternal grandparents, Andrew and Odessa Holmes Brooks of Silver City and one brother, Herbert J. Fields of SilverCity. Funeral services were held Feb. 23 at the 12th and West Streets Church of Christ with Chris Graham officiating. Interment followed at Memory Lane Cemetery with Allingham Golding Post No. 18 conducting military honors. Center. He has been a resident of Grant County for63 years and was retired from
the Santa Fe Railroad System in 1955. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Luisa

Fierro: Luisa Fierro, 89, of Silver City passed away Friday at Hacienda de Salud
nursing home. Mrs. Fierro was born June 21, 1903, in El Paso, Texas, to Victor
and Pascacia (Ponce) Sambrono. She had been a resident of Silver City since 1942
and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Mrs. Fierro is survived
by a son, Hank S. Fierro of Farmington Hills, Mich.; fourgrandchildren; seven
great
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death
by her husband, Guadalupe; a son, Mike; a daughter, Guadalupe (Fierro) Saenz;
and her parents. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m.
at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. George Reynolds will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Silver City Catholic Cemetery. Relatives and

FIFE: Mildred M. Fife 82 died Sunday, Sept. 12, at her ‘ home in Alamogordo.
Mrs. Fife was born March 7, 1917, in Sepulpa, Okla. She married Sam O. Fife on
Sept. 25, 1941, and adopted two children, Sandra and Sam. Mrs. Fife and her
husband owned a farm, a ranch, a
drugstore, a roller skating rink, motels, a circus and several restaurants. She
finally settled in Silver City, and owned and operated Angel’s Pizza. She sold
Angel’s Pizza in 1982 and moved to Alamogordo, where she retired. A memorial
service will be held Tuesday at 2 in the afternoon at Bright Funeral Home. In
lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American
Cancer Society or Gila Regional Hospice. She
was preceded in death by her husband, Sam, and a sister, Mary Baweum. She is
survived by “a son, Sam Keith Fife of San Jose, Calif.; a daughter, Sandra Kay
Fife of Nashville; a brother. Jack, and his wife, Bernadette Mitchell, of
Houston; and six
grandchildren, Anthoni, Kerry, Jack, Brand E, Melinda and Sam Christopher Fife.

Dr. Karl L. Fife, Lordsurge doctor, who was well known in Grant County, was
killed Sunday when his glider crashed from an altitude of about 700 feet. The 43
year old physician had made glider flying his hobby, and was co holder of the
New Mexico glider altitude record. He is survived by his widow and son, Darwin.
Fife: Sam Oliver Fife, 79, died Saturday, Dec. 15. Mr. Fife was a native of Texas and resident of Grant County for thirty years. Hewas a member of the Seminole City, Oklahoma Masonic Lodge No. 476 and the McLennan Chapter No. 639 Order of Eastern Star, Waco, Texas. He is survived by his wife Mildred Fife, one daughter, Sandra Kay Fife, one son Sam Keith Fife, all of Silver City, one sister, Mrs. Odessa Mills of Dallas, Texas, three brothers, J.L. Fife of Oklahoma City, Okla., Louis D. Fife of Alexandria, Virginia and Leroy Fife of Big Springs, Texas. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wed., Dec. 20, in the Curtis Bright Funeral Chapel with Rev. Clifford E. Hutton and the Tyrone Masonic Lodge officiating. Burial followed in Memory Lane Cemetery. Figart: T.L. Bud Figart Jr., 59, of Silver City passed away Jan. 4 at Gila Regional Medical Center. He was born Aug. 29,1932, in Tulsa, Okla., to Talmage and Nita (Bland) Figart. He is survived by two children, a son, John C. Figart of Central, and a daughter, Karen T. Porter, who is serving with the U.S. Army in Monterey, Calif. He is also survived by four sisters, Margaret Figart, Ella Sue Conner and Charlotte Bolch, all of Tulsa, and Martha Ann Goins of Jenks, Okla. He was retired U.S. Forest Service employee. He served 35 years in the Forest Service, including 20 years in Silver City on the Gila National Forest in timber manmagement. Sevices were held in Tulsa, with interment inRose Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations to the American Cancer Fund. Local arrangements were by Dannible's Chapel of the Roses of Silver City.

Mr. and Mrs. Filson were residents of Hanover for many years where Mr. Filson was an accountant with the Ernpire Zinc Company. Mrs. Filson was an active member of the local D.A.R. chapter. She is survived by her husband and four sisters.
FINA: Maria A. Memita Pina, 94, of Placitas entered eternal life Thursday, July 8, Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces. She was born May 5, 1905, in Corralitos, Chihuahua, Mexico, and had been a longtime area resident. She was a homemaker, a devoted member of Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church and a Crusillista. Survivors include two sons, Nick A. Pina, and Leonardo A. Pina Jr. and his wife, Erlinda, all of Hatch; and a brother, Jose Arellin of Santa Clara. Other survivors include 21 grandchildren, Nick Pina Jr., Danny, Frank Pina Jr., Yolanda, Esperanza and Olivia Pina, Caria Pina Yaw, Nellie Payan, Maria Serna, Ramon Barela, Johnny, Richard and Rudy Alvarez, Frances McFarland, Manny, Arthur, Sally and Henry Martinez Jr., Nancy Apodaca, Estella P. Mendoza and Alice C. Trujillo; 71 great grandchildren; 26 great great grandchildren; and four great great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonardo Pina Sr.; two daughters, Vicenta Alvarez and Juanita Martinez; three sons, Frank, Manuel and Luis Pina; one stepdaughter, Anita Altamirano; one daughter in law, Consuelo Reyes Pina; two sisters, Petra Nunez and Jasefa Tetiez; two brothers, Tiburcio and Genovevo Arellin; two great granddaughters, Arlene Herrera and Shae Yaw; and two great great grandsons, Oscar and Nathaniel Mendoza. FINLEY: Evelyn Gladys Finley, 80, of Deming passed away Wednesday, June 30, at her residence. The family will receive friends Tuesday at Modell Funeral Home in Darien, 111. Mrs. Finley was born Nov. 26,1918, in Peoria, 111., the daughter of Durley Knickerbocker and Hazel Seymour Knickerbocker. Mrs, Finley was married to Edward Finley, who preceded her in death in June 1989. She is survived by three sons, David Calvin Finley of Orcutt, Calif., Glen Douglas Finley of Cincinnati, and James Alien Finley and his wife, Lauren, of Charlotte, N.C.; three daughters, Judith Tatera and her husband, Norman, of VanZant, Mo., and Sharon Levy and her husband, Martin, and Mary Frances L Gillen, all of Deming; a brother, Richard Alien of Crown Point, Ind.; one nephew, Robert Alien, and his wife, Donna, of Crown Point; and one niece, Janet Ezop, and her husband, James, of Warrenville, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Frances Lind. Mrs. Finley spent her childhood years in Peoria. She lived in Darien until 1995, at which time she moved to Deming, She was extremely passion' ate about travel, one of the things that brought her to the Southwest. Mrs. Finie' touched numerous lives that reached far beyond her own family. She was a best friend to many people. Mr' Finley was on the board of directors of the International Association of Laryngec tomees. She participated in conferences held worldwide She did volunteer work for the Newman School for Retarded Persons, she was a Girl Scout leader and past president of the Illinois Association of New Voiec Club, and was a member of the Duster Group. Fischer: Lee Ann Barker Fischer, 45, a resident of Silver City since 1981, died Monday of cancer. She was born June 5, 1949, Idaho Falls, Idaho. She also lived in Bozeman, Great Falls and Missoula, Mont, Columbia, Mo., Caldwell, Idaho, and Hillsboro, Ore. She is survived by her husband, James R. Fischerof Silver City, whom she married Dec. 28, 1967. Other survivors include her parents, Irvin Lee and Lucile Barker of Island Park, Ideho; her brothers, Tom and Harry Barker of Island Parkand Dick Barker of Shelley, Ideho; her children, Ross J. Fischer of Socorro, Mary Lucile Hancock of El Paso, Texas, and Lee R. J. and Richerd E. Rick Fischer of Silver City; her grandsons, Abinadi V. Hancock and Patrick J. Fischer numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends, Kathy Ladner and Sylvia Sensanbaugher. Mrs. Fischer attended ricks College, Montana State University and the Colleg of Idaho before graduation in 1988 from Western New Mexico University with a secondary teaching dagree. She received a bachelor of arts degree in general science. She minored in geology She was working as a nursing aid at Gila Regional Medical Center and was enrolled in the nursing program at WNMU when cancer forced her to quit her studies last year. She was a lifetime members of the Chuch of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, serving in many positions with the church. A public viewing will held at Bacs's Funeral Chapels Wednesday from 7:30 9 p.m. The funeral will be held Thursday at the Church of Jesus Crist of Later day Saints on Swan Street in Silver City, with a viewing at 9 a.m. and funeral service at 10. FISHER: Dona Carol Fisher, 60, of Silver City passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, at Gila Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at 1 ^ p.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in Bisbee, Ariz., with Bishop Tommy Shelly officiating. She was born Dona Carol LaRue on Dec. 1, 1938, in Tempe, Ariz. Her family moved to Bisbee in 1941. She attended Lowell Schools and Bisbee High School during her childhood. She married Clarence Coleman Fisher on Sept. 9, 1955, and they recently celebrated 44 years of marriage. Her oldest son, Michael, was born in October 1963, followed by Richard, in 1968. In 1970, the family moved to Silver City. Mrs. Fisher's life was marked by her service to others, through her church 1 activities and genealogy, and through participation in the Scouting program. She was employed by Dr. Pierson Deming and later by The Hester House. She will be missed as a devoted wife, loving daughter and sister, wonderful mother and caring grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Clarence; two sons, Michael Colcinan Fisher of Washington, D.C.. and Richard Stephen Fisher and Eileen of Silver City; a brother. Dean LaRuc, and wife, Pat, of Safford, Ariz.; two sisters. Patsy Fatwell and husband, Ed, of Duncan, Ariz., and Linda Gardner and husband, Howard, of Bisbee; mother, Ruth Holly, and stepbrother. Mrs. Isabel V. Fisher, 62, passed away Saturday in Silver City. Born at Gila, she was a lifelong resident of Grant County. Rosary services were held Monday evening at the Curtis Mortuary chapel. Funeral mass was said at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church officiated by the Rev Fr, B A Vander Haar. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Joe Arellano, Silver City: Mrs. Paul Alvarado and Mrs. Eugenia Easterwood, Bayard and Mrs. Salvador, Grants, and two sons, Ben Fisher, Dennis, Calif., and Robert Lee Fisher, Silver City.
Mrs. Lucille M. Fisher, who taught in the Dona Ana school system for 28 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. H. McLaughlin, Jr., Sunday. She was a member of the Episcopal Church and Delta Kappa Gamma sorority. She is survived by a son, James R. Fisher, Silver City. two daughters, Mrs. McLaughlin and Mrs. Betty Jàne Stephenson, Seattle; her mother, three brothers, two sisters and four grandchildren. Her body was sent to Albuquerque for cremation. The ashes will be returned for services pending with Cox mortuary.
Mrs. Mary L. Fisher, 84, passed away Monday, June 27, at Rest haven Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Fisher was a native of Arizona, and had resided in Silver City for the past seven years. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Martha Allison of Silver City, two sons, Henry P. Lerma of Silver City and Ernest L. Fisher of Prescott, Ariz., 17 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Survivors also include a sister, Miss Enriqueta Lerma of Pico Rivera, Calif. and three brothers, Charlie Lerma of Silver City, Pete Lerma of Pico Rivera, Calif., and Agapeto Lermo of Los Angeles, Calif. He received a bachelor of science degree in 1951 from Arizona State College at Tempe. He worked for Frontier Airlines in Arizona and transferred to the Grant County Airport. He later went to work for Iexas New Mexico Power Co. and retired from there in 1989 after 24 1/2 years of service. Mr. Fisher was a life member of The National Wildlife Federation. He was a member of the Audubon Society, serving as a trail guide for nature walks and as a bird count organizer. He was a nature and wildlife photographer (Black Hawk Photography). His Southwest photography was featured on Western New Mexico Telephone Co.'s phone book for several years. He took first place at the Grant County Fair for his photograph of the Kneeling Nun. It is the voyage and the adventures on the way that count, not the arrival it self. Fisher: John B. Fisher, 90, father of Roy W. Fisher of Silver City, died last week at Hillcrest Hospital. Mr. Fisher was a native of Kansas and had resided in Silver City for two weeks. Other survivors include a son, Carl E. Fisher of Blakesburg, Iowa; and a daughter, Mrs. Edna M. Horn, of Albion, Iowa. Services were held in Blakesburg, Iowa.

four grandsons and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Benton P. Fisher in 1955. Mass of the resurrection was celebrated at
St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor A. James Milano officiating.

A J Fitch, 80, one of Southwest New Mexico’s prominent mining engineers and
operators, with properties in the Hachita Mining District, died Saturday in
Deming hospital. Funeral services were held in Deming were interment took p1acé.
Born in Terre Haute, Ind., he graduated from Technological School there and came
to New Mexico with his father, a mining engineer, who opened and operated the
famous Kelly Mine at Magdalena many years ago. From Magdalena, as a young
engineer, he went to Hachita where for many years he developed and operated
mining properties in that district. He reopened old mines and brought them into
production again Mr. Fitch gave many young mining engineers, geologists and
surveyors their first practical mining experience. Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Frances Fitch, four dàughters, Mrs. Emma McKinney Deming; Mrs. E. L. Martinez
Albuquerque Mrs. Marvin Couins, Fort Defiance, Ariz.; Mrs: Oscar Hosmer, Silver
City, and five sons, Albert and Mannie Fitch, Grants NM, Asa Fitch, Silver City;
Fitch, Hachita, and Arthie Pittsburgh; Pa., serving in the U.S. Army.
FITCH: Leta Fern Fitch, 99, passed away Saturday, May 27, in Silver City. She was born July 28; 1900, in Corning, Kan., to Artie and Mae Cary. She married Charley Wayne Fitch at Lamar, Colo., on Dec. 24, 1919. Mrs. Fitch had been a Phoenix resident since 1967, residing at the Michigan Trailer Park. She is survived by a son, Thomas Arthur, and wife, Virginia, of Douglas, Ariz.; and a daughter in law, Maxine Byrd, and husband, Joe, of Phoenix. FLEMING: Elizabeth Ann Fleming, 55, of Silver City passed away Thursday, Mal
111, at Gija Regional Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be
conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday at Mesa Cemetery in Gila, with Deacon Bill Holguin
officiating. Mrs. Fleming was born Feb. '6, 1945, in Shrewsbury, Mass. She was'
the daughter of Sven and Elizabeth Hanson. Mrs. Fleming married James U. Jim
Fleming Jr. on Sept. 5, 1970, in Worcester,,Mass. She is survived by her
parents; her husband, Jim; one son, James E. Fleming; one brother, Ron Hanson,
and his wife, Clar, of Shrewsburg; one sister, Carolyn Graves, also of
Shrewsburg; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fleming grew up in the Boston,
.Mass., area. After her marriage to Mr. Fleming, the couple moved to Silver
City, where they remained most of their lives. Mrs. Fleming taught elementary
school in Massachusetts for nine years. She attended American International
College and received a bachelor of science degree and a degree in social work.
After moving to Silver City, the couple had a son, James. Mrs. Fleming was
employed as a child day
care worker and home health care worker for the elderly.
She also spent much of her time involved in the literacy program at Western New
Mexico University, and was responsible for helping many students learn how to
read. She also was involved in the English as a Second Language Program at WNMU
and helped numerous students. learn English, and become naturalized citizens.

FLEMING: Gordon H. Fleming Jr., 59, a lifelong resident of Las Cruces, died
Thursday at home. He was born Nov. 15, 1937, in Las Cruces to Gordon and
Winifred Fleming. He was an avid rodeo cowboy who was awarded numerous buckles
for his skills in calf roping and steer wrestling. Mr. Fleming was also known
for his craftsmanship in saddle making. He was a violinist and top rate
carpenter. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local 1245. Survivors include his
wife, Betty Jean, of the home; two sons, Rick Williams and his wife, Tracy, and
Danny Williams and his wife, Stacy, all of Ashgrove, Mo.; eight dat Mickey
Duttle and her husband, Tom, of Las Cruces, Debbie Webster and her husband,
Brett, of Texas, Kelly Kuchonleng of Silver City, Kathy Stanton of Missouri,
Susan Bobo and her husband, James, of Texas, and Sherie Shupe and her husband,
Bill, Brenda Kehnie and her husband, Dell, and Cindy Kyle and her husband, Walt,
all of Las Cruces; his mother, Winifred Fleming Allen, and stepfather, Robert
Allen; his brother, Mel Fleming of Las Cruces; a half brother, Hal Vernon, and a
half sister, Barbara; 30 grandchildren; and three great grandchiliren. He was
preceded in death by his father, Gordon H. Fleming Sr.; a great
grandson, Dakota
Beall; and an aunt, Virginia Dupriest. The funeral service will be held Sunday
at 1 p.m. in the Getz Funeral Home chapel in Las Cruces with Bishop Larry F.
Sherwood of Springerville, Ariz., officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest
Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Getz Funeral Home.
Funeral rites were held Wednesday afternoon at the Cox Mortuary chapel for Mrs. Nancy Fleming, pioneer resident of Silver City, who passed away Sunday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. L. W.Stedt, in San Bernadino, Calif. Since 1940 she had resided in California but had lived here 58 yéars, before going to California. Besides the daughter in San Bernardino, survivors are another daughter, Mrs. S. C. Pruitt, Silver City: two sons, J. Frank Fleming, Jr,, Silver City and Walter E. Fleming,’ Santa Rita; 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Services were conducted by the. Rev. Harold E. Johnson of the Santa Rita Community church, followed by interment In the Silver City cemetery. Casket bearers were Jack Hardin, George Anderson, flail Thorne, Fred Prevost and Andrew Gilliland.
Fleming; Amanda Wilmeth Fleming, 95, passed away Tuesday, June 19 at the Mimbres
Memorial Hospital in Deming. She was the second of 16 children born to Lee David
and Mary Elizabeth Lovelady Wilmeth on Oct, 28, 1888 in Chickasha, Ok. Mrs.
Fleming was a long
time resident of Grant County, having come here in a covered
wagon with her family a the turn of the century, settling on the Gila River
where they farmed. In 1907, she married Gene Fleming and they ranched for many
years on the Gila. She was a true frontier lady, working alongside her husband
on the ranch in addition to her household chores and helping to rear her
brothers and sisters. She moved to Silver City in the early 1930's. Mrs. Fleming
was a member of the Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents
and all of her brothers and sisters; the latest, was Albert Wilmeth in 1978, and
Roy Wilmeth, May 31. Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces
and nephews and great great nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Graveside
services were held Thursday, June 21 at Memory Lane Cemetery. The Rev. Bradley
of Deming officiated. Interment followed. Pallbearers were Dwayne Arnspiger,
Scotty Calloway, Dirk Manning, Darrett McCauley, Jim Wilmeth and Paul Wilmeth.
Fleming: Ellwood Fleming of Santa Rita returned on Feb. 5 from Sacramento, Calif. where he attended the funeral of John W. Shultse (John Daley) who was killed in a car accident near Sacramento where he was employed by the Aerojet Generator Corporation on Final Inspection. He was 41. He is survived by his wife, the former Lillie May Marke and two sons Warren and Eric. Mr. Schultse attended Western High School while his mother, Mrs. Ida Daley, was employed at Fort Bayard. He graduated from New Mexico A&M with the class of 1940 and went into the Army service. Following his discharge from the Army, he moved to California where he had lived since. Mrs. Schultse graduated from New Mexico Western College and is now making her home at 2101 Waterford Road, Sacramento. She was the daughter of the late Carl Marke, a Silver City Building contractor.
Fleming; Eva Carter Fleming, 89, died Monday night at Fort Bayard, NM. She was born in Kemp, Tx but was a long time resident of Grant County. Mrs. Fleming was a member of the Methodist Church and for many years was very active in the business and professional womens organization and the Eastern Star. Eva and her husband Les, ranched for many years in this area and later she became the owner and operator of Grant County Title and Abstract Company until her retirement in 1966. She is survived by a sister, Vera Clayton of Tularosa, two nephews, Jack Carter of Mimbres, Billy Carter of Phoenix, AZ, two great nephews, Dale Carter of Guymon, Ok. and LesCarter of Los Lunas, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie R. Fleming in 1970. Graveside Funeral services were held at the Memory Lane Cemetery in Silver City with Mancel Mortencen officiating. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Arrangements were by the Wheeler Funeral Home of Silver City.
Fleming: James Upton Fleming, age 63, of Silver City died in his residence on
Friday, Feb. 13. He was born October 22, 1917 in Silver City, the son of John W.
and Lucy M. Woodward Fleming and lived in the Grant County area all of his life.
He had been a self employed rancher for 43 years and had sold cars for several
agencies in the area; he had also driven a school bus for the Silver City School
District for many years. He is survived by his wife, Louise; one daughter,
Marilynn Louise Shaw of Santa Monica, Calif.; two sons, James U. Fleming, Jr. of
Silver City and Henry Burk Fleming of Anthony, N.M.; one sister, Clariabel
Jennins of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, John W. Fleming of Hanover; and five
grandchildren. Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at

FLEMING: James W. Fleming, 81, life long resident of Grant County, died last Saturday at Riverside where he had resided for the past several years at the home of a nephew, Roy Clark. Survivors are two brothers, Leslie Fleming, Mesa, Ariz., and Asa Fleming, El Paso, and several neices and nephews. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Curtis Mortuary chapel, the Rev. Fleming: Probate Judge John William Fleming III, 80, of Hanover passed away Sunday at Gila Regional Medical Center. Judge Flemingwas born Nov. 19, 1911, in Silver City to John William and Lucy M. (Miller) Fleming Jr. He hd been the Grant County probate judgefor the last 10 terms. Last week, he was named Citizen of the Year by the Silver City Grant County Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Westerners, president of the Hanover Mutual Domestic Water Consumers Association, and president of the Arenas Valley Water Association, and he helped organize the Chino FederalCredit Union. He was inducted into the Democratic Hall of Fame in1991. Judge Fleming retired from chino Mines in 1962. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed the history of the area and often spoke to different organizations. Judge Fleming is survived by his wife of 49 years, Adah (Wheeler) Fleming of Hanover; a sister, Clairbel Jennings of Phoenix; a sister in law, JUdy Louise Fleming of Pinos Altos; four nephews, John W. Fleming, James U. Fleming Jr., Burk Fleming and William A.Fleming; and two nieces, Marilyn Shaw and Francine Dole. Memorial services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Curtis Bright Funeral Home, 210 W. College Ave., Silver City. The Rev. Ray Keene will officiate. FLEMING: Mrs. Lucy Miller Woodreff Fleming, 77, passed away the past week at her home in Santa Rita. She came to Grant County from Ohio in 1907, and had lived here for 57 years, becoming a pioneer of the community. Mrs. Fleming was the mother of Probeate Judge John W. Fleming of Hanover. Other survivors are two other sons, Edward Fleming of Phoenix and John U. Fleming of Silver City; daughter, Mrs. Claribel S. Jennings of Phoenix, and 29 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Curtis Mortuary chapel, the rites being conducted by the Rev. Harold E. Johnson of the Arenas Valley Community Church. Burial was in Memory Lane Cemetery.
Fleming: Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Lusk Fleming, 58, died August 4 in the Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness. Mrs. Fleming was born in Albuquerque. Before moving to Las Cruces she had spent her entire life in Silver City. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Don Lusk. She had recited in Las Cruces for 13 years. She is survived by her husband, Peter A. Fleming of Las Cruces; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Ann Barnes of Silver City; one son, Major William Liak Allen in Thailand; seven grandchildren; and a sister Mrs. Wilma Richardson of Stamford, Conn. Funeral services ere held in the Church of the Good Shepherd at 11a.m. Saturday with the Rev. C.M. Henderson officiated. Interment followed in Memory Lane Cemetery. Casket bearers were Robert W. Funeral, services were he]d at 10 a. m. Wednesday for Wesley M. ‘Fleming who died Sunday after an extended illness. The deceased had been a patient at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albuquerque. He was 63. A resident of Cliff for the past 30 years, Mr. Fleming was a patrol foreman for the New Mexico State Highway Department for 15 years. Survivors are his wife, Margaret, of Cliff; one son, John R. Dinwiddie of the U. S. Mrs. Ysidora Y Fletcher,86, widow of Edward E. Fletcher, died Friday at the Santa Rita hospital after a lengthy illness. She had lived in this community the past 72 years. She is survived by four sons, Gilbert of Los Angeles, Louis of Miami Ariz., Manuel of Santa Rita and Gustavo of Santa Rita: three daughters, Mrs. Juan Serna :Santa Rita, Mrs. Ernest Bargus Santa Rita and Mrs. Victor Estrada of Los Angeles; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Rosary service was held at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Cox Mortuary chapel. Mass was held at 9 am. Monday at the Santa Rita Catholic Church, after which the body was taken to the home in Santa Rita to lie in state until time of the funeral at 4:30 p.m. Monday. Rev. Fr. Pedro Ruiz officiated.
Fletcher: Dale K. Fletcher, 77, a resident of Silver City and formerly of Lordsburg, passed away Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque. She was born Aug. 22, 1917 to Edward Ackley and Ward (Dale) Kellenberger in Alton, Ill. She married Roy T. Fletcher on Dec. 15, 1955 in Lordsburg. She and her husband owned and operated Fletcher's Country Market in Lordsburg. Mrs. Fletcher enjoyed writing. Her works included several novels, many poems and The Broom Closet, a column wich ran continuously in The Lordsburg Liberal. Her love for art was expressed in the watercolor paintings she created. She raised and was particularly fond of flowers and nursed many sick animals back to health only to end up keeping them as pets. She spent many hours helping to form and working for The Humane Society in Lordsburg and was a member of the Mayflower Society. In Silver City, she was an active member of the Gila Regional Medical Center Women's Auxiliary and the Grant County Art Guild. She is survived by a son, David Schmidt, and his wife, Gloria of Las Cruces; a grandson, Rodd Schmidt of Wilmington, S.C.; a granddaughter, Randie Schmidt of Las Cruces; five other grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a half sister, Ann Dixon of California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy T. Fletcher in 1992; her mother, Ward (Dale Kellenberger; and a son, Frank Schmidt in 1993. A memorial service will take place Friday at 11 a.m. in the Curtis Bright Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Robert Ihlefeld officiating. Family members selected Curtis Bright Funeral Home to serve them.
Fletcher: Gilbert Esquivel Fletcher, 90, a Grant County native, passed away in San Gabriel, Calif. He was born Nov. 2, 1900, in Santa Rita. In 1919, he joined the U.S. Army and served three years with the Medical Corps in France. He worked for Chino Mines until 1940 and then moved to California. He was preceded in death by his father, Eduardo; his mother, Isadora; three brothers, Luis,Manuel and Gustavo Fletcher; two sisters, Carmen Serna and Angie Vargas; and his oldest son, Gilbert Fletcher Jr. He is survived by his son, Daniel, of San Gabriel, and by his youngest sister, Rose, of Santa Ana, Calif. A military memorial service will be conducted at Fort Bayard National Cemetery Wednesday at 10 a.m. with American Legion Post No. 18 and Veterans of Foreign Wars PostNo. 3347 conducting the military honors. His cremains will then be interred by family members at the foot of his mother's grave in the Hanover Cemetery.
Fletcher: James J. Fletcher, 74, a retired logger and resident of Reserve, entered life eternal Sunday at Gila Regional Medical Center. He was born Aug. 20, 1918, in Ford County, Kan., to the late James E. and Ruby (Hueghnot) Fletcher. A former resident of Truth or Consequences, he retired from the Southwest Lumber Mill in Lower Frisco. Mr. Fletcher was a communicant of the Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting. Calling hours will start at 6 p.m. today at the Middle Frisco St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, near Reserve. The prayer vigil will follow at 7 p.m. The funeral liturgy will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Church with the Rev. Patrick C. Wedeking as celebrant. The rite of committal will follow at the Middle Frisco Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. Fletcher: Roy T. Fletcher, 77, of Silver City, passed away Saturday at Fort
Bayard Medical Center. He was born July 13, 1916,to Parks and Mamie (Cass)
Fletcher in Cahoma, Texas. He married Dale Kellenberger on Dec. 15, 1955, in
Lordsburg. After retiring in 1963 from the Southern Pacific Railroad, where he
worked as a brakeman and conductor, he owned and incomplete, nothing found.
FLETCHER: John Fletcher, 70, of Albuquerque passed away Monday, April 15. He
was born June 27,
1925, in Hanover to John J. and Emilia Fletcher. He is survived by his wife of
43 years, Patricia; his
daughter, Susan Fletcher Johnson; two sons, Terrence and his wife, Debbie
Fletcher, and Stephen and his
wife, Eve Fletcher; four sisters, Cecilia F. Ryan of Bayard, Margaret Renteria
of San Diego, Fannie Leon
of Silver City and Mary Arbar of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; and four
grandchildren, Stephanie and Lisa Johnson, and Danus and Margaret Renteria of
San Diego; Fanny Leon of Silver City; from the New Mexico State Department of
Labor after 35 years of service. He was a volunteer at St. Joseph's West Mesa
Hospital, The Store House in Rio Rancho and the Corrales Community Library. A
memorial Mass
was celebrated by the Rev. Lucian C. Hendren on Thursday, April 18, at San
Ysidro Catholic Church in
Corrales. Contributions may be made to Prostate Cancer Research, American Cancer
Society. Cremation
was by Sunrise Society.
Flickinger: Bob Flickinger, 94, a resident of Lordsburg since 1927, passed away Saturday at his residence. He was born July 10, 1901 to Fred William and Margaret (Marr) Flickinger in Indianapolis, Ind. He married Zela Elizabeth Layton on Jan. 18, 1931 in Phoenix. For many years, Mr. Flickinger owned and operated Flickinger Plumbing in Lordsburg. He was a 65 year member of Masonic Lodge No.1111 in El Paso, Texas, but was also active with the Masonic Lodge in Lordsburg. He is survived by three daughters, Patricia Zella Halligan of Tucson, Ariz., Margaret Nadine Noga and her husband, John Noga Jr. of Mojave, Calif. and Mary Eleanor Conley and her husband, Robert of Eufaula, Okla.; two sons, Robert William Flickinger and his wife, Gracie of Dallas, and Eugene Marvin Flickinger of Tucson; a sister, Margaret Harding of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zela Layton Flickinger in 1987; and eight brothers and sisters, including a twin sister, Lola Coats in 1976. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Masonic Lodge in Lordsburg with Brother Terry Hale officiating. A private family interment service will take place at a later date. Family members selected Lordsburg Funeral Home to serve them.

Flook: Velma Flook, 81, of Silver City passed away Tuesday, Aug. 4 at Gila
Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Flook was born Oct. 24, 1910, in Plainview, Texas,
to Van and Eula Douglas. She was a trailer park owner. She is survived by two
sisters, several nieces and many friends. Graveside services will be held
Thursday at 3 p.m. at Memory Lane Cemetery. The Rev. Floyd Robertson, pastor of
the Church of Christ in Silver City, will officiate. Arrangements are by
Curtis Bright Funeral Home of Silver City.
Alfonso Flores, 42, of Pinos Altos, died in a head on auto collision 16 miles north of Derning Thursday night around 8:3O. In the car with Flores at the time of the accident were Marty Pollanco and Fransisca Pollanco, both of Hanover. Agnes Torres, and Gilbert Torres of Silver City. Mr. and Mrs. P. C Romer of Silver City were the occupants the of the other car, and were slightly Injured. Investigating officers said that each driver was trying to make the other driver dim their headlights by switching the lights from bright to dim, and the Flores car had moved too near the center of the road during the blinking operations. The Injured were taken to the Deming Ladies hospital, where they were given first aid and released. Funeral services were held at St Vincent De Paul church in Central. The rest of the obituary is missing.
Angel T. Flores, died Saturday Feb. 5 in Calexlco, Calif. He was retired from the Southern Union Gas Co., where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. He is survived by his wife Carmen of Calexico; two daughters, Hortencia Baca of Albuquerrque and Pearl Gonzales of Fullerton, Calif. seven sons, Fernando of Arenas Valley, Conrad of Central, Alfred of Anaheim; CaIif., Manuel of Las Cruces, Ruben of Silver City, Henery of Anaheim, Calif. and Jesus Rojas of Calexicó, Calif; 36 grandchildren., and 16 great grandchildren, Rosary was held Wednesday, Feb. 9 in the Wheeler chapel and Funeral mass was held at the Newman Center. Internment followed at Memory Lane, Cemetery.

Mrs. Flores lived in Bayard for 23 years. She was an active member at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and was a Guadaluknev, her and will be missed by all. She is survived by her daughter. Lupe M. Chacon of Bayard. whom &he lived with for 23 years; three grandchildren, Dorina and her husband, Juan Vlartinez, and Diane and her husband, Martin Castro, of Las Cruces. and Palsy Chacon of Bayard; four great grand children. Marissa. Martin Jr., and Adrianna Castro, and Gabriel Martinez, whom she loved and adored very much; two sisters. Margarita F. Madrid and her husband Felipe, of Fabens, Texas, and Beda Esparza of El Paso, Texas: three brothers, Carlos Flores and his wife, Lupe, Felix Flores and his wife, Maria, and Salvador Flores and his wife, Maria Teresa, all of El Paso; and numerous r nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Calling hours were from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bright Funeral Home, where tile vigil service was held at 7 p.m. with Deacon Johnnie Perez. The funeral Mass was celebrated this morning at 11 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Father Paulus Kao as the celebrant. The rite of committal and burial followed in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. Casket bearers were Salvador Flores. Steve Flores, Larry Madrid Sr., Gilbert Aranda, Ray Esarza, Armando Madrid, and former resident of Grant County, died Friday, Sept. 10, at Albuquerqe Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation . Center, He was bord Aug. 29, 1928. in Santa Rita. Mr. Ruiz served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1948. He had been disabled since his service. Graveside funeral services and the rile of committal and burial will be at Fort Bayard National Cemetery on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Deacon Johnnie Perez officiating. Veterans honors will be accorded by local veterans groups. Survivors include a brother, Manuel Ruiz, and a sister, Anionia Lopez, of Silver City. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels, U.S. 180 East at Delk Drive.
Daniel Flores, 89, of Lordsburg, former resident, died Sunday In Fort Baysrd Hospital. Survivors are a son, Sammy Floras of Silver City; four daughter, Mrs. Lupe anaya of Silver City. Mrs. Paula Serna of Fullerton. Calif., Mrs. Nella Quintana of Hyden, Az, and Mrs. Manuela Barragan of Silver City; 32 grandchildren and 13 great grand children. Rosary service, were held at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and mass was said at 11:30 am. Wednesday.
