Daimler and Maybach based Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft (Daimler Motor Firm, DMG) in Cannstatt in 1890 and underneath the model title, Daimler, offered their first automobile in 1892, which was a horse-drawn stagecoach constructed by one other producer, that they retrofitted with an engine of their design.
